WordKeeper is a Chrome extension that lets you save words while browsing and optionally email your saved word list to yourself via Gmail. This policy describes how WordKeeper interacts with your data, including Google user data.
WordKeeper requests the following Google API scope:
This is the only Google user data WordKeeper accesses. WordKeeper does not read, modify, delete, or otherwise access your Gmail inbox, contacts, drafts, labels, or any other Google account data.
The gmail.send permission is used for one purpose only: when you click the "Email" button in the extension popup, WordKeeper sends your saved word list to the email address you have configured. The email is sent directly from your Gmail account to the recipient you specify. No other use is made of this permission.
WordKeeper does not share any Google user data with third parties. Specifically:
The only network requests WordKeeper makes are: (1) to the Gmail API to send your email, and (2) to the Free Dictionary API to fetch word definitions. Neither request transmits your Google user data.
WordKeeper stores your saved words, their source URLs, and your configured email address locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage APIs (chrome.storage.sync). This data is protected by Chrome's security model and your Google account (if sync is enabled).
WordKeeper does not maintain any external database, server, or backend. No Google user data is stored outside your browser. OAuth access tokens are managed entirely by Chrome's chrome.identity API and are never written to disk or transmitted to any server controlled by WordKeeper.
Your saved words remain in Chrome's local storage until you delete them. You can delete individual words or clear your entire list at any time using the extension popup. Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data.
To revoke WordKeeper's access to your Gmail account, visit your Google Account Permissions page and remove WordKeeper. This immediately revokes the extension's ability to send email on your behalf.
